Western “Branded” Birthday Cake with Horseshoes & Barbed Wire

This western cake is surrounded by hand made sugar barbed wire, sugar horseshoes and western cattle/horse brands. The cake is german chocolate with homemade coconut pecan filling in the middle and covered with german chocolate buttercream – all from scratch.   Yum! This cake was done for my Wee Bites cancer fundraiser website along with 80 large german chocolate whoopies – fit right in with their western theme and got lots of compliments (the party organizer told me there were anyway) :)   Had a lot of fun making this one:

Sugar Butterflies

These butterflies were perfect for some lemon drop cupcakes and even used them on some pink sparkle cake pops.

Wow.. first post of 2011? Seriously?!

I guess it’s been a busy year because I don’t have a single post for 2011!  Time to fix that! :)

In November of 2010 a friend of mine and I started a baking fundraiser for our the, 2 year old granddaughter, to help raise funds for her and her family while she battled cancer and a liver transplant. Our granddaughter is 3 now and doing really well with her new liver.  I have decided to keep our little bake sale fundraiser going so I finally got my Wee Bites site online!

Lots of photos and some of the same cakes you see on this blog but all the cupcake and cake pops have not been posted on the blog.. yet. :)

Check it out: http://www.bites4mazie.com

I have two more pumpkins on the vine for some October pumpkin sculpting. I think I will name the Bert & Ernie. :)
